I did a course looking at how to tapestry weave faces.
Firstly a lego man.

A monster.

And using coloured warp for hair.

These are so great! Love the one with the fancy hair Wink.

Do you have plans to make any bigger pieces with the techniques you learned? Sounds like a cool class.

Thank you all for your comments!  I realised that it is pretty hard to weave a life-like face!  The warp hair is a good effect, the neck is done by pulling tight when turning (usually a big no-no, as it pulls your edges in), and the nose is done by creating slits (if that makes sense!).

craftylittlemonkey - I never really know what to do with these small samples, so thank you for the bookmark idea!

Please show them if you do make some bookmarks, I'd love to see one finished with a body.
I searched to see if you have a shop for things like this, I am so enamoured with that last one, just love it. All the fine detail, the nose, the different textures, the neck... I want to touch it and thoroughly check it out, it's so cool.

craftylittlemonkey - thank you!

I haven't had much time to weave lately, but hopefully this is me getting my weaving-mojo back!  Smiley
