I'm considering needlefelting but I wonder how to get started.

Should I try a kit? If so, which one?
What book or kit would give me the basics to help create my own needlefelted sculptures?

Are there other resources pages that would help me understand how to get started based on what I would like to do with this particular medium?

Thanks so much everyone! Your creations have been so inspiration that I want to try a little of everything.

We have a tutorial list that includes a basic beginner overview over in the Felting board: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=140465.0

And actually I'm going to move your thread over there since those ladies might be able to give a little more help. Smiley

Sorry for posting in the wrong place. Now that I know where the tutorials list is, I have a good starting point.

I am new too and for my first effort, I bought a couple of kits from Woolpets and am going to try it out with them. The penguin and the sea otter are listed as Easy, so I went with them. I will update if they were good to start with when I am done.

Thanks. I've seen those kits too. I'd love to hear about your progress. The sea otter is one of my favorites.
