I made this for camelama in the Hoopla Round 7 Swap where the theme was negative space/silhouettes.  I have never done a negative space hoop, so I wanted to experiment with that.

This was inspired by her kitty Phoebe, but it turned out to remind her of her first kitty Cirrus, who was a white, window watching kitty.
You can see pictures of Cirrus in camelama's post here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=403029.msg4769000#msg4769000

I used a lot of different stitches in this - I had my embroidery book out to look up all different fill stitches to give it lots of texture.

Looking for a vintage magazine (1974 - 1978) that has a fabric nativity set w/ people and animals. An example: http://www.craftster.org/pictures/showphoto.php?photo=440861&ppuser=143144.

This is splendid. I adore the colourfulness of it contrasting with the white cat.

That is fabulous.  What a great use of negative space.  And I love the colours and the variety of stitches makes it so much more rich and wonderful.

I love this. It's great that you used so many stitches. And it's very sweet. It's happy-making. Cheesy

I absolutely LOVE this hoop, luck. I think it's a shining example of the theme for this round. You really rocked it! The textures outside of the window are all wonderful. I wish I could see it up really really close Smiley.
