I have seen buttons glued to ring shanks and wanted to figure out away to make my own version of a button ring with beads. I played around for hours to come up with this design.
In my videos I am going to start coloring both ends of my string two different colors. So it is easier to understand what beads I pick up or what beads I am going through. Thank you Crazydoc for this color coded string end idea hopefully it will be more helpful for everyone. Tutorial link below
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jbzG9ouOdRk&list=UUayXdktyKEoJr7kQcEYXZhA&feature=plcp

Materials Needed:
3ft. of 8lb. test fishing line or 4ft. of 6lb. test Fireline will work even better
4-4mm round beads
6-3mm round beads
11mm four holed round button
11/0 seedbeads I used two colors

It is important to stay as close as possible to a 11mm four holed round button because it will deform the design 10mm or 12mm should be fine also.
This ring is done with a rivoli shank button. To find out how to do it with a shank button go to buttom of page.

The ring on the left was my experimental ring.

This is what the back of the rings looks like they are so comfortable.

You've done it again! Your designing and teaching skills are amazing. Thank you so much for adding the color on the ends of the stringing material - it helps so much!

I didn't have the proper size button (will look for one later today), so I adapted the number of seed beads between various sections. It's a bit floppy, but I hope to get better tension on the next one (and the proper size for the button and the rounds). I used tiger's eye rounds and swarovski bicones in this one.

Thanks again for your awesome vids. What a wonderful service you're providing for the beading community!

Update - tried a second ring. This one sits a little high, but I think the look is growing on me.

Your rings look awesome! I was thinking there are a lot of pretty buttons with shanks. I figured out how to make it with a shank button. Here is how you do it the pictures pretty much explain it. Bead 9 is important it fills in the gap and because the shank is so wide it needs to be there. I used a rivoli button.

Clever!

I've got a GAZILLION buttons with shanks - very few with 4 holes. Looks like I may be making a couple more rings today. Yay!
