I've been enjoying making lots of sock animals lately and when I saw this craft challenge I thought it would be a great opportunity to make a 'two for the price of one' sock critter.

Two animals, at opposite ends of the speedometer, combined as one

First a hare

Then a tortoise

The transition stage

A two headed beast!

Wow!  How does it switch from hare to tortoise?  Do you turn it inside out?  This is very clever!

Yes, essentially it is just turned inside out. The video shows it better than I could ever hope to explain it

Shocked Oh my goodness, they are both so stinkin' cute! It's so well done, you did a truly wonderful job and it is so perfect for the theme. That transition shot is hysterical, you need to come up with a name for whatever that creature is.

Great, great job!

Thanks for all the lovely comments.

As soon as I saw this latest challenge I had the idea of what I wanted to do but I wasn't too sure how to make it work and thought it might take a lot of prototypes to get it right but it worked as I'd envisaged first time. Unfortunately that meant I didn't take any photos to write up a tutorial, may have to do another for that.

Uh oh. If you do end up making a tutorial, I don't think I'll be able to resist attempting to make one of these.
