Well, art is something, it's art! It is something, I enjoy looking at it and think it's inherantly valuable.
I have a mental block about making items that don't have a specific useful purpose though. That's helpful in the pursuit of a minimalist existance but not so much when trying to express oneself creatively Tongue. I'm working on it...

I just keep looking at this thing and asking, what ARE you? LOL, I'm not getting any definite answers.

I had my first go last night, I am pretty happy with it, though I know I still have a lot of work to do to make something really special!
I am afraid it wont be original enough though..  Undecided

I got into the studio for a minute today and tried out one of my ideas, have the base finished and now am thinking of embellishing with embroidery thread and seed beads. I'm not sure I like it though... it's very colourful, which I adore, and it's also slightly odd, which I of course love, but it's a bit... um... a bit what-is-it-ish. Know what I mean? Like somebody's going to get this thing and be like "Ooh, colour! Ooh, shiny beads! Ooh, teeny stitchery!.... What's it supposed to BE though?" LOLOLOLOL, is that OK? Sometimes I have a problem making things that just don't have any purpose. I mean, maybe it can be incorporated into some other project or something. Or do people want useless stuff that just sits there looking strangely creative?

(I could be asking this of myself since I'll also be a recipient, ha ha. My answer is yes, I'm going to enjoy whatever comes in the mail to me so I guess the answer to my musing is "it's all OK".)

I WAAAAAAAAAANNNNNT IT you mentioned shiNY!!!!! Cheesy um does that help any?!??!

Got felt sizing figured out so they turn out 4x6 (you need to start larger because it shrinks during the process).  Will be away for the weekend, next week will be more experimentation!

LOL you guys!

I made one small change and now I love it and don't want to send it away at all, ha ha! Just have to do a little "finishing" and I'll be all done.

No worries, we don't expect your mediums to be written in stone....we all know how the art process can be Grin

The nature of the swap is that you are sending to an unknown partner and you are not going to see their signup so while we tried to match people up according to what they might like (or not) there aren't any guarantees that any swapper will send out what they indicated on their signup.  Our main concerns were international sending willingness and allergies Cheesy

In my decision-making process on figuring out a color palette for my little painting I recalled this little internet gem that I wanted to share with you guys:

http://kuler.adobe.com/#create/fromacolor

It's an application that generates a color palette for you based on criteria that you input. I only work in traditional medium, so I don't use any of the hex codes, but I find that playing around with it gives me a lot of inspiration and I can see how different colors will look next to each other without actually digging into my medium.
