I've been wanting to make a squashy cabled afghan only just forever. So... I finally took the plunge and and made it! And can I just say? I really love this thing. I love the color and the soft, squishy yarn and and the big ol' cables. It's definitely one of my favorite knits that I've ever, well, knit. Cheesy

The pattern is called Lover's Knot Afghan and it's by Lion Brand. The yarn is knitpicks Swish Worsted in Peapod.

oh and ps. I totally messed up the cable pattern in a few places but I kind of love it that way. It makes it feel more personal and handmade, I think.

When we pointed out mistakes in our work my grandpa always said, "A man running for his life will never notice it."  I think your afghan is lovely.  Only a dirty rat fink would look over it to find a miss-crossed cable.

Absolutely beautiful!  I know that must have been a tremendous amount of work.  I always rather enjoy those little imperfections in my own work -- gives my eyes somewher to come to rest.

Great job!

Oh. My. God. That is so beautiful. You're stitching is really lovely, and so are the cables. I love knitting afghans; I might have to try this one. Grin

I don't knit; I have tried, many times, and only succeeded in accidentally thrusting the needle up an unsuspecting nostril and nearly braining myself.  I just don't seem to have the capacity for it.  I wish I did though - this is jaw-dropping gorgeous.  Hats off to you, hon; what an amazing project.
