A while back I turned to Craftster for decor ideas for a 30th birthday party---- a 1990's Alt/Grunge party, that is! (Even all this time later, I still can't get over how random that sounds  Cheesyhttp://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=387052.msg4579171#msg4579171

I received a ton of really awesome suggestions.  Somewhere in all that inspiration, the need to create a Kurt Cobain shrine became imminent.  Had to do it really.

I got the shadowbox from Goodwill and couldn't wait to get home and tear it apart.  I made sure to keep all the paper flowers for later use.

So, I printed a Kurt pic from online and tea stained a sheet with the lyrics to 'Come as you are'.  The paper flowers I kept were stained red with watered-down acrylic paint.  I also covered the sides with a textured paper and added worn gold accents, but sadly isn't visible in the cruddy cell phone photo.  The tealight holder was formerly a can of Red Bull (ah, sweet elixir of life).

It actually ended up pretty perfect because the birthday girl came dressed as Courtney Love (smeared makeup and slip dresses and all).  Such an awesome coincidence!

Thanks for looking!  Comments and Critiques welcome!
