I only discovered this forum today.  Undecided (Yes I know! I'm also wondering under which rock I've been living!) I registered to comment on the beautiful cables and then I found this too! It will go lovely with the cables!

Fabulous! Thank you so much for the neat, step-by-step tutorial, you're a star!

this is a continuous blanket correct? we don't make a lot of little ones, and then sew them together? I am not a fan of putting blocks together, LOL.. Would like to get the pattern, but if it is a lot of small blocks put together know I won't make it.. so thought I would ask first..

Thanks and it is beautiful... Smiley

Well, this is just a swatch, really.  If you kept going with it, you could end up with a scarf if you wanted.

This tutorial is really just for the laddering process, not the crocheting, really.

There are some patterns out there for one-piece blankets that use this technique, both free and paid.  Do a google search for "jacob's ladder blanket" and I'm sure something neat will come up. ^_^

I know this is just an example, but I meant your afghan that you have on Ravelry with a pattern, is it all in one piece or is it in different blocks all put to gether to get that diamond design?? Sorry thought my message was on the post with your afghan not the example of the ladder..

Ah! Yes, my pattern found on Ravelry is one piece - no joining.
