Details of swap:
This swap was organized so everyone can get something crafty for their birthday!  Please read the guidelines carefully.

1. This swap is list style, like the Ongoing Wishlist Swap.  However, it is NOT chain style. You can choose any birthday Craftsters list that is posted, rather than only being able to pick from the last one posted like in the OWS.

2. This is a medium item swap. A medium item is defined as a craft or recon, etc that takes you two hours to complete OR $20 worth of store bought items. (If bought from a thrift store, estimate what it would have cost new.) However, you may also substitute a few small items for a medium.

3. If your birthday is in swap's current month, you can post your birthday wish list for this month. To do that, you must first PM me with the swap questionnaire filled out and wait for approval. While you're waiting, be sure to post in the discussion/gallery thread: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=404796.0

4. Once you have been approved, you may post your list of things that you would like to receive. This is the format for your lists: First post your location and a short bio of yourself, then a list of crafted items you would like, then craft supplies (if any) and lastly you can put a few extras that arent crafted, things like candy or tea. Remember, the more items on your list, the more likely you are to be chosen. The minimum of items to post is five.  Also including your wists, etsy favorites, etc. is a good way for people to get the idea of your likes and style.  If you have any allergies please type them in red in your bio section. Please see "Tips to Creating a Good List" below.

5. Please post lists only in this thread. Discussion can be done here in the combined discussion/gallery thread:    Please be sure to post here so that you can be part of the discussion and receive. You will not be approved until you have posted in the discussion thread.

 6. Every birthday participant must make at least one claim. You may have up to two claims at a time, unless you are an FOC or a first time swapper, and then you can claim again once your items are received (not when you mail out). New swappers may only have one outstanding claim; they may claim again after their first claim is received. FOC's may have 3 outstanding claims at a time. Claims need to be made from the "crafted" and "craft supplies" sections of a person's list. The "extras" are just that--extra items you may want to throw in if you are feeling generous, but claims cannot be solely extras. Keep it crafty :-) (I'm asking that if you are sending mostly supplies, that you craft a little something for the bday babe, even if it's a handmade card.)

7. You may get claimed more than once, but your minimum amount to claim is one.  It is possible you may not get claimed at all. In this case you will not be provided a swap angel; angels are only if you get flaked on. However I do my best to make sure everyone gets claimed by keeping track of how many times each person is claimed. If possible try to pick someone who has been claimed 0 times versus someone who has been claimed 3 times.

8. If it is not your birthday but you would like to send a birthday present out you may do so.  Fill out the non-birthday swapper questionnaire and send it to me for approval.  Birthday swappers who receive a present from a non-birthday swapper must send a snail mail thank you card.  You will not receive feedback until I hear from the other swapper that they have received a thank you card.

9. When you choose to fulfill a birthday wish, PM both the organizer AND the chosen Craftster.  At that time, please request the address from the receiver for where to send it.  After that, you have 2 weeks to get the item out the door.

10. It is super important for everyone to keep good communication.  It is REQUIRED that you PM me when you've sent and of course, don't forget the DC#.  It is REQUIRED that when you receive, you PM me and publicly announce in the gallery (even if you don't have pictures).  If you do not send the appropriate pms you will receive poor communication feedback.

11. When one of your items is chosen, please cross it out so that it is easier for others to see what has been chosen. (It wouldn't hurt to thank the person at this time either.)

12. If you are sending late you must PM TroubleT by your send-out date.  If your send-out date comes and goes and you dont PM me, you will receive poor communication feedback.  It should not be my job to hunt you down and find out what is going on.

13. If you are flaked on in this swap you will receive an angel, but only in the amount of packages to which you also sent out. For instance, if you send out 2 packages, and are claimed for 3 packages but are flaked on once, you will not receive an angel because you already received 2 packages, which is equal to what you sent. If you send 1 package and are claimed for 1 package and you are flaked on, you will receive 1 angel.

Please make sure to put Mar. Birthday Swap or something equivalent in the subject line on all communications. The most important thing to me is communication. Please PM me (TroubleT) when you send and receive, and please reply to my PM's to you in a timely manner.

If you format your PMs like this:
Format for PMs:
Proper label:
"Mar. Bday Swap" and either "Sign-up," "Claim," "Sent," "Received," or "Question"

When sending sent and received PMs include the send-by date, listed in the second post of the main thread, your user name, their user name and the item. Just copy and past the info from the second post if you want!:

Send by Mar. 14
kaz814 to TroubleT -- pretty purse

Outstanding claims allowed:
FOCs: 3 at a time
First time swappers: 1 at a time
Everyone else: 2 at a time

Become an FOC~

TIPS TO CREATING A GOOD LIST
It seems that every month there is someone whose list languishes for a while. I want everyone to get picked so here are some tips for a well-round list:

--Make sure your items are actually mediums and smalls. Quilts are not mediums. Large painted portraits are not mediums. Hand knit sweaters are not mediums. This isnt to say that you cant have any large items on your list (some generous soul may have the time and the inclination to choose one of those!), but the majority of the list should be smaller items

--Listing A surprise plus a well filled out Craftster profile and a link to your wists (with a decent amount of items on it) is always helpful in getting chosen

--Make sure to post a variety of crafting techniques. If you list appliqud t-shirts in five various themes and count that as your required five items, that is more like one item for someone to choose, not five. Having various crafting methods (sewn, knit, crocheted, paper crafted, jewelry, etc.) is going to make it easier for people to choose you.

--Check out other lists in past Bday swaps and the Ongoing Wishlist Swap for ideas for things you never knew you wanted!

If you want to SIGN UP TO POST YOUR BIRTHDAY LIST:

QUESTIONNAIRE TO ANSWER (BIRTHDAY SWAPPERS):
Name of swap: March 2012 Birthday Swap
Craftster username:
Email address:
Real name & Address (formatted for mailing):
When is your birthday?
Have you read and understand all of the rules to this swap?
Are you willing to send at least a medium item per claim?
(If not then you will not be approved.)
Are you at least 16 years old?  Yes/No
Who and what do you claim for crafting? If you do not know yet/it's the beginning of the swap, you have 1 week after being approved to claim someone:
If shipping within the US, I agree to obtain a DC#: Yes/No
If shipping from outside of US, I agree to provide a copy/scan of my mailing receipt.  Yes/No
Have you posted in the discussion thread already? If you say yes and haven't I will not approve you. If you say no I will not approve you. Discussion thread found here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=404796.0   Yes/No
Quiz: What do you have to do if someone who is a non-bday swapper sends you a gift?
Quiz 2: How long do you have to send out after making your claim?

If it is NOT your birthday and you want to SEND TO A BIRTHDAY CRAFTSTER:

QUESTIONNAIRE TO ANSWER:
Name of swap- March 2012 Birthday Swap (Non-Bday Craftster)
Craftster username:
Email address:
Real name:
Mailing address, including country and properly formatted for shipping:
Chosen craftster and item (if you know):
If shipping within the US, I agree to obtain a DC#: Yes/No
If shipping from outside of US, I agree to provide a copy/scan of my mailing receipt. Yes/No
I understand that I will be getting a thank you card and not a package for this swap.  Yes/No

IF YOU WANT TO PARTICIPATE, REMEMBER TO SEND YOUR INFO TO THE ORGANIZERS VIA PM AND NOT TO REPLY WITH IT HERE.

Also remember to read the Swap Info Guide to find out how to ship your item and other details about participating in a swap.
Please make sure to post in the combined Gallery/Discussion Thread to keep up with updates: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=404796.0

Hi everyone I am Lindy and  l live in Arizona with my boyfriend and two kids.  I will be 31 (how did that happen?) on March 21st.  Not planning on doing anything special this year.  I dont have any allergies but as a fomer smoker I prefer things not to smell like smoke.  So if you are a smoker please wash before you send if needed!
Hmmm about me.I like birds, trees, jewelry, tattoos, cupcakes, and skulls.  My favorite colors are black, pink, aqua, and gray.  I wear  A LOT of black and gray then add bright colored accessories for a pop of color.  I love jewelry and have a ton of it pinned on Pinterest.  I recently joined Weight Watchers so please no treats  Tongue

So on to the list!
-A pinterest surprise would be lovely!  You can take from any of my boards except the obviously non crafty ones, wedding ideas, and I made that.  http://pinterest.com/lindyv321/
-I LOVE jewelry and have no allergies.  I dont wear gold though  Wink here is my jewelry board for ideas since I have no specific pieces in mind http://pinterest.com/lindyv321/jewelry/
-I have a hoopla wall in my craft room so an embroidery hoop would be fabulous. I have a hoopla pinterest board if you need inspiration.
-INCHIES!!!! I am working on a large wall hanging made from inchies and need about 20-30 more to finish it.  Would love in any of my favorite themes or colors or just your own random artwork.
-Fabric flowers on clips that I can attach to a tank top or wear in my hair
-T-Shirt Skirts tutorial can be found here:  http://sewlikemymom.com/the-shirt-skirt/ or this one http://analogme.typepad.com/analog-me/2009/09/i-didnt-ever-think-my-old-tshirt-could-look-like-that.html
-An  Ironing mat like this http://pinterest.com/pin/186336503302215565/
-A Nook Color Cozy that opens like a book
-A dust cover for my Sihoutte Cameo or Kitchen Aid mixer
-I have a small craft room that I am decorating with Crafster art.  Stuff to put on the walls would be fabulous.  Any of my themes listed above or quotes.  I have a papers and printables board and an art board
-I am also starting a collection of altered spoons to hang in the craft room.  Teaspoon to Tablespoon sized.  Painted, glittered, wire wrapped, really whatever you wanted to do with it!
-Would love some paper quilled letters like these http://pinterest.com/pin/186336503302248040/ 5X7 sized.  I would love an A, R, L, and L or just an A, L or just an R, L (does that make sense?)  Would prefer them to be in deep reds, tans, browns, and dark blues to match my house colors.
-A weekly planner like this http://pinterest.com/pin/186336503302037210/
-Easter decorations
-Any supplies from my supplies board.

Extras:
-Spicy Salsa!  I can eat as much salsa as I want with Weight Watchers!
-Crafty books or any books for me http://pinterest.com/lindyv321/books-i-would-like-to-have/  or for the kids http://pinterest.com/lindyv321/books-for-the-kids/

Thanks for choosing me and Happy Birthday everyone!

Hi!  I'm Leslie and I live in Virginia.  I used to be a stay-at-home mom, but now that both kids are in college, I'm a stay-at-home crafter!  During the week it's just me and my husband and four cats; our daughter comes home on the weekend to see her cat!  I sew every day, and do some polymer clay, and I've just become interested in embroidery.  I like things that are bright, pretty and cheerful; anything nature-inspired; and anything sewing-related.  I'm allergic to nickel, and I prefer not to receive jewelry.

List:
Pin cushion (I collect them)
Pot Holders (set of 2)
Placemats (set of 2)
Mug rug
Handcarved stamp with a winged heart or the letters "LHH"
Embroidered bookmark --Thanks, Lindy!
A surprise from my Pinterest  http://www.pinterest.com/leslieshappy/
or from my My Wists http://www.wists.com/Leslieshappyheart
or from My Etsy Favorites  http://www.etsy.com/people/leslieshappyheart/favorites?ref=pr_faves

Supplies
I always want more of the following:
assorted buttons
assorted beads
wool felt, any color
DMC embroidery floss, any color

Extras
I love gummy candy! Any kind or flavor except sour
Starbucks instant coffee singles, any kind
A big coffee mug

Hi! My name is Tina and I live in the Pacific Northwest. I have a wonderful husband and two wonderful girls (16 and 20). We are ALL attending school right now, so it can get a bit stressful in our house during papers or finals (ie right now)

About Me:
Things I like: nature, trees, leaves, fairies/gnomes/giants etc (not the super cutesy ones, but the more real ones), geekery (general science, astronomy, biology, chemistry, computers steampunk versions as well as regular geekery versions of these)

Animals that I love: bats, hawks, turkey vultures, owls, seals, manatees, whales, tortoises, sea turtles, butterflies pretty much anything animal, vegetable, or mineral ! (but I dont like taxidermied animals in a persons house I find it really creepy)

Colors: I like fall colors, turquoise, dark rust, green, forest colors... but I also like bright rainbow colors. Okay, I guess that I pretty much like all colors, but am less excited by Easter pastels and neons, although they have their place. I generally do not like camouflage patterns.

My style leans towards bohemian / gypsy / hippie / natural. I am absolutely fine with you upcycling and using recycled materials in your crafts for me. I would prefer that the materials that are used do not come from animals (no real fur, and only recycled leather, please).

Crafts that I would love to receive (in no particular order):
   A crafty surprise
Anything inspired by my wists (http://www.wists.com/TinasDawn) or my pinterest (http://pinterest.com/dawnstrees/)
Kitchen towels / tea towels (themes: coffee, nature, hot peppers)
Yard art, plant signs (sunflower, peas, tomato, chives, cilantro, corn, painted daisy, poppy, flower, weeds), birdhouses, bat house, fairy doors
gardening gloves, gardening knee pads, decorated gardening tool container
Mandalas, labyrinths, mazes (for coloring, not already all done)
Zen stacking blocks (like at http://www.zenblocks.com)
Slippers (I wear a size 9 shoe. I really like these ones  but please keep in mind that I have fat calves...)
Purse / tote (I know that is a large, but I am in desperate need of a new purse)
   Wallet, coin purse, wristlet
Scarves (especially the long ones any material)
   jewelry
   placemats, napkins, or napkin rings

Supplies that I would love (I definitely do not mind used supplies):
   Stamps (textures, words, nature themes)
Metal (copper, silver, brass etc; pretty much any thickness up to 16 ml; absolutely fine with scraps but would prefer if they were approximately 1 square or larger)
   wire of any sort
Beads (although I currently don't need plastic beads, I am always up for all sorts of other interesting beads)
Jewelry findings (silver, copper, brass, gunmetal)
Chain (again, can be your old necklaces I will repurpose them)
Paper punches (any shape or size would be appreciated!)
   Archival quality glue sticks
   Charms or inclusions
   Resin molds
PMC (I know this is expensive, so if you have usable scraps I would happily take them!)

Other miscellaneous:
I love coffee, chocolate, and hot sauces (love, love, love spicy foods!)
I am looking for maps, comics, sociology text books and dictionary pages to use in crafting

Hi! My name is Petra and I'm form Slovenia. I'll be 25 in less then a fortnight (on the 11th) and I'm a bit afraid of that:) that's a quarter of century...Smiley I live with my boyfriend, puppy and father in the house I grew up in. I just started learning how to decorate cakes on my own (no such things as classes in the town I come from..:/) so I plan on baking myself some epic cakes for the occasion. Besides from baking, I love sewing and I'll try myself at gardening this year. (i'm currently unemployed, so I have tons of time).
I like all kinds of colours, but mostly more natural and toned down tones. As for patterns, I like everything except for skulls and kawaii stuff, I'm not a big fan of those. I really love anything vintage. I'm a huge fan of peacocks (mostly because someone once figured out I can abbreviate my name to p.kok and I built my "personal brand" around the imagery:)).

My list
crafted things:
-pinterest surprise http://pinterest.com/pkok/ - I would especially like something from the board "clothes i have to make" if someone is very generous with their time:)) thanks TroubleT!
-embroidery hoop
-any kind of jewellery for the wrists (bracelets, bangles, wrap thingies... anything:))
-cocktail rings
-pretty things to put on my head in the spring(hats, headbands, ...)
-some kind bag to carry my water bottle&phone when I go jogging or on longer walks

supplies (I don't mind if those are just scraps that you don't need any more, or anything used):
- interesting fabric
-machine embroidery thread
-bias tape
-zippers
-polymer clay
-tools for working with fondant (like stamps)

extras
-flavoured coffee - whole beans- any flavour would be awesome. they don't sell it in Slovenia... or if they do, it costs its weight in gold:)
-i know those are probably expensive, but when I was in the US I tried Godiva raspberry dark chocolate bars and still think it was one of the best things I ever ate:) they don't sell Godiva here...
-any books or magazines about sewing or cake decorating

Hi! My name is Xandria, and I'm a college student from Albany, NY. On March 13th this year, I'm going to be 19! Stuff about me:

*I'm studying to be an American  Sign Language Interpreter.
*My favorite colors are pink, red, purple, and blue.
*I just finished wearing purple everyday for a year though, so it's better off used in small doses right now
*I don't like green or gold.
*My favorite animals are dinosaurs, koi fish, and owls.
*I love Doctor Who, Secret Diary of a Call Girl, Harry Potter, and comic books. My favorite comic heroes are the X-Men, especially Gambit.
*I have dreadlocks, which create a need for slightly larger than normal hats, because that's just the nature of dreads ^^;;
*I do ask for things that require measurments, please PM me if you want them
*I have no allergies.

Crafty Wishlist:
-My lovely biffle Maya is going to be turning 20 this year on the 19th, and I thought it would be fun to get her in on some crafty love this year! She's geeky like me, and would love anything related to Doctor Who, Star Trek, DC comics [especially Static Shock], The Young Avengers, and Magneto. If you want some more inspiration, I have a small, growing, board for her on my pinterest:  http://pinterest.com/xandria/for-maya/. She has no allergies, but her ears aren't pierced.
-A Doctor Who TARDIS hat like this one:  http://pinterest.com/pin/17180759/
-A Unicorn Scoodie!:  http://pinterest.com/pin/238761217714486819/
-Hats in general really; any color combo or pattern, they're great when I don't feel like dealing with my dreads and just want to cover them up xD You can find inspiration on my pinterest.
-An amigurumi with dreads:  http://pinterest.com/pin/238761217714502227/ Doesn't have to be exactly like this one, I just want a funky dolly with some funky dreads. I wanna start a whole little family XD
-A Superhero plushie! I have a Rogue, I would love a Gambit, or a Hulkling, or a Wiccan, or any superhero I love really [this essentially covers all of Marvel. 'Cept for Wolverine. I really don't like him. And Magick. I call her really bad names when people bring her up.]
-A K-9 [From Doctor Who] Bag:  https://pinterest.com/pin/238761217714294597
-A set of dinosaur cards like these in a variety of colors: http://pinterest.com/pin/17150242/
-A hoop for my 'geeky' hoopla wall:  http://pinterest.com/xandria/hoopla/
-Would love a screenprinted/paint shirt with the ASL sign for 'Pride':  https://pinterest.com/pin/238761217714293500/ though not in green.

Hey everyone, Im Amy. I live near Seattle, WA with my husband & 2 girls. My birthday is March 20. Last fall I went back to school for nursing. Im hoping to finish nursing school before my oldest finishes high school. There are a couple of books on my must read list at the moment. My oldest tells me I have to read Hunger Games so we can go see the movie. Then, theres the book, 50 Shades of Gray, that I saw on Good Morning America thats on the must read fairly soon list, as well. So, thats my life, school, raising 12 & 14 yo girls, trying to keep up on my reading/crafting and oh, theres karate. The girls and I also take karate together. We just tested for our green belts. Yay, that means were now more than halfway to our black belts. It also means were finally getting a clue as to which way our bodies should be moving. Its funny to think that Ive had this very same body for 39 years now and it doesnt always want to do what I tell it to. Remember when you first tried to rub your tummy and pat your head. Thats a lot like karate for me, somedays. Wouldnt give up the time with the girls for anything, though.

In general I love hearts, zippy bags, black/white/purples/blues, scarves/cowls, tote bags, Dr. Who, Harry Potter, green tea, popcorn and zentangles.

On to the list
Idea lists to get a sense of what I likeSurprises would be great.
-Wisty ideas. http://www.wists.com/DiscoQueenHighness
-Recently discovered pinterest. http://pinterest.com/discoqueenh/
-Ravelry favs. http://www.ravelry.com/people/DiscoQueenH/favorites

Specifics-Id love a shawl like this in purples, blues or ivory/off white. http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/granny-shawl

- a slouchy hat in black, purple, or blues would be amazing.

- Hearts &/or balls - Id love to have a bowl of knit/crochet/sewn hearts and/or balls just to play with. Eyeballs are always a fun ball to add to the mix. Adding to the collection would be great. Ohh, balls with comic book action works like BAM! Or KAPOW! Or the like would be loads of fun. You know when the connect with the back of my husbands head. A nice double insult for him just before he picks it up to whizz it back at me.
Thanks Xandrigirly

- a sleeve scarf. Instead of a whole sweater, Id like a scarf made of one continuous sleeve with the little ribbing at the ends like sleeves have so often.

- a wristlet/zippered pouch big enough to hold 4 passports.

-pyramid zippy bag - I've always loved these - http://www.etsy.com/listing/71720220/pacifier-pyramidcoin-pursejewelry?ref=sr_gallery_5&sref=&ga_search_submit=&ga_search_query=&ga_order=date_desc&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_ship_to=US&ga_page=3&ga_search_type=handmade&ga_facet=handmade

- Im not sure what size this would be considered, but Id kill for one of these chickens. http://blueskyalpacas.com/patterns/knit-chickens/

- Ive been wanting this wrap since October 2009. A dark eggplanty purple or a denim color or ivory or gray would be AMAZING! It looks like its a pretty chunky yarn, so should knit up pretty quickly. http://www.ravelry.com/projects/tma/i-s-l-a-n-d-e-w-r-a-p

- A granny square scarf in blacks, whites, & purples

- tea bag pouches that button closed at the top and are big enough to hold Tazo/Stash tea bags. I prefer the pouches over the wallets. Ive seen some cool cable knit ones. I havent seen one but I think a scrappy quilted one would be amazing, too. You could even leave the edges unfinished. Several would be great so I could keep one in the car, one in my bag, maybe one in my lunch box. http://www.etsy.com/listing/56926242/catnip-eyeballs-bulk-5-sets?ref=sr_gallery_1&ga_search_query=eyeball&ga_search_type=handmade&ga_page=3&order=&includes%5B0%5D=tags&includes%5B1%5D=title

- a necklace like this one. http://www.wists.com/DiscoQueenHighness/4b38eec0a960bfad637812084d79382c all I have is the picture, it doesnt link to anything anymore.

- leather/beaded triple wrap bracelet Thanks, Lindyv321

- Altoid tin watercolor travel paint set (or similar, something small I can take on vacation for art journaling) http://www.instructables.com/id/Movable-Pallet-Altoid-Tin-Watercolor-Set/

-- a paracord bracelet black/pink or camo/pink

- magnetic dish towels  http://www.instructables.com/id/Magnetowel-magnetized-kitchen-towel/?ALLSTEPS

- insulated lunch box one that would fit my 7x5 inch rectangle pyrex dish and let it sit flat.

- polymer clay buttons that look similar to this in sets of 3 2 inches in diameter. Love the shimmer on the top. http://www.etsy.com/listing/94225866/handmade-polymer-clay-cabochon-in-silver?ref=sr_gallery_14&sref=&ga_search_submit=&ga_search_query=&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_ship_to=US&ga_page=13&ga_search_type=handmade&ga_facet=handmade  or http://www.etsy.com/listing/91875340/polymer-clay-earrings-stamped-with
Thanks Xandrigirly

- flatiron/curling iron insulated case with some sort of cord containment

Supplies

Happy Birthday month fellow Marchies!
My name is Cindy and my birthday was March 8 and I turned (55!yikes! but I'm very young at heart!). I'm in Reno, NV
I love horses, dogs especially, but just about any animal. I read a lot and love my Kindle and my Audible account. I spend a lot of time on my computer. I love tea.

I'm a glass artist primarily - i love the texture. I'm learning resin jewelry, spending some time beading and trying to incorporate crochet and wire into jewelry.

No alergies.

Likes: deep, rich jewel tone colors (blues, purples, deep green, etc)
paper crafts, glass crafts, jewelry (pierced ears, dangles or posts ok), scarves, gloves (size 7)

Dislikes: frilly.... orange...

http://www.wists.com/heartofglass/
http://pinterest.com/aheartofglass/

Crafts I would like:
  • art journal pages (5 x 7) to use to brighten my gloomy thoughts! (struggling lately - looking for inspriation)
  • something to believe in (*sigh*)
  • note cards
  • jewelry
  • coasters
  • eyeglass holder chain thingy
  • scarves in the blues/purples/greens - jewel tones
  • a wisty or pintrest surprise

Supplies:
Jewelry findings (clasps, hooks, copper wire, earring parts)
sheet copper
modge podge
resin jewelry stuff
cheap paint brushes
beads
buttons (fancy unique kinds for bracelet and cuffs)
glass etching cream

Extras:
I love herb teas (jasmine pearl is my very favorite)
dark chocolate (the darker the better)

Thank your for crafting for me!
