Eclectic Dreamer can't find her camera, so she asked me to post pictures of what I sent -

Basket - I kept it pretty simple, but then added a fabric flower





I made her a journal for the other item.  I recently took a coptic book binding class and have been trying to make sure all I learned sticks.  It actually isn't too hard once you learn the stitch.  I collaged the covers with some ephemera I had and included a couple cat silhouettes.

The pages inside are cool too. The outer page of each paper section is a decorative paper.
And now I've decided I have to learn how to do this type bookbinding, too, so I can create my own day planner for 2013 (I'm soooooo picky in what I want, nothing on the market is quite right).

The basket needs ironed a little bit to perk it up from its trip, but I'm so excited about it! It's perfect for my bedroom & will go on my dresser to hold the miscellaneous jewelry that I don't know where to put.

Yep! I play for Rose City Rollers. I transferred in from Bay Area Derby girls back in October.

The gloves fit perfectly and are so great! I agree with Leslie that everyone should have a pair. Yes, silentblair make yourself a pair too!
As for the mastermind hoopla, it is so cool! You remembered us talking about mastermind, how awesome is that!!!

Zkatom, I love the package you made for Eclectic Dreamer!  The fabric on the basket is beautiful, and really suits her well; the fabric flower is a really cool touch.  And that journal----!!!!  Whoa, that is really something extra special, can I come to your house and you show me how to do that??  Awesome package!

Thanks for all the compliments on the journal everyone!  I'm so glad you guys like it.  They are really fun to make - kind of addicting.....    You are welcome to come over Leslie, though the trip might be a bit long.   

There are some really great tutorials online - http://www.tortagialla.com/2010/08/16/chain-or-coptic-stitch-bookbinding-tutorial/  I don't use a hole punch to punch through the cover; the awl works fine.  You don't need to use a curved needle.  Some people find it confusing while it really helps others.  It is definitely just personal preference.  I also finish off a bit differently, but I don't think it matters at all.

zkatom, love the basket and the flower is gorgeous!  The journal is amazing.  I bought supplies to learn bookbinding a few years ago and never went any further.  I think I may have to find the stuff and give it a try.
