Until recently, the items I've made that require blocking were fairly small. I could usually fold a towel over and pin them out on the kitchen table.

Lately, I've been working on some larger projects and I've been struggling with how to block them. I have tried using the bed but I obviously can't leave something there overnight Undecided. I've used a big blocking board that the LYS has but that's not very convenient either.

Where do you do your blocking??

I have a very forgiving husband so my blocking often takes up the whole living room floor. I put it right in front of the forced air on a few thick, old towels.
When I blocked myHemlock Ring Blanket I used a fitted sheet over a patio table on the deck. It was summer so it was perfect.

I've only ever steam blocked, and only ever been small projects so it's been my ironing board.

Thanks for your suggestions!

loudxmouse - do you have carpet in your house? We only have hardwoods so I've never tried blocking on the floor.

yes. Don't block on hardwood! I did it at my parents while they were away and it made a big white mark. It faded but I was SO scared i had ruined the floor.
