I'm a junior member of my local calligraphy guild, and a few times a year we can participate in "Club Escargot" - a snail mail challenge where we create beautiful envelopes and cards to send to a few other club members.

This one fell right in line with Valentines day and I found a quote that I find very inspiring.

The card was written with red speedball ink in a Carolingian hand.
The  envelopes were folded from scrapbook paper.

Beautiful calligraphy and the sentiment is wonderful too.

would love to do calligraphy like that!  I've tried-- I guess I must need more practice.  LOTS of practice!  Lovely job!

Thank you Antidigger- I fell in love with the quote when I first saw it!

bunny1kenobi - I'm sure you could do this! I've only been to two calligraphy workshops and practiced a few times (I need to be a lot more dedicated to practicing regularly).
