This is an old project.

I 3D printed a ball-jointed doll, BJD, head.
Afterwards, I spray painted it.

I'm in the middle of a few other projects, so making body is on a small hiatus.
But I'm putting in eyes soon!

Cool, but, so OK, you have your very own 3d printer? Say it ain't so, I'll have to spend the whole day in a deep jealous funk Tongue But seriously....is the software difficult to learn?

no, 3D printers are expensive @_____@, I used Shapeways to print, which is reasonably priced
they charge by amount of material used, so you can hollow out certain bits to make it cheaper
software is easy to learn but hard to master
I used 3dsMax the time I did this, but Maya or another other 3D modeling software works just as well
Autodesk, maker of 3dsMax and Maya, is giving out free licenses to students

very cool!  Grin
thanks!

Thankyou so much for the info, I've got to check Shapeways  out and see if I can find some cheap software...not a student =(

I hear Blender is pretty good and free. I've never used Blender though.
Good luck!
