I needed a new purse and after checking around, I couldn't afford the ones I liked and I didn't like the ones I could afford. "Necessity is the mother of invention" I made one and I liked the way it turned out.

Love it! The stencil is perfect. Yay for another thing to pin to my "Beatles" pinterest board Smiley

Thank you everybody for your kind words on my Beatles bag. Actually that picture on the front of the bag is not a stencil. I was given a tote bag as a gift from a coworker years ago with the Beatles on the front. It was getting very threadbare and I just couldn't throw it away...after all the Beatles were on it! This is the first bag I ever made. I cut out the flap from that old tote bag. I had seen a woven leather bag on line priced at over $2,000 and I really loved it so I sort of copied it with the help of some videos I saw on YouTube. There are a series of videos by a husband and wife team and they go under "how to make a designer bag.com. They are great. I watched their videos several times before I got the confidence to make this bag. The Beatles fabric was purchased by me some time ago to make my sister an apron and I had some left over. This bag is 12" x 10" and has side pockets, front pocket under the flap, a zipper pocket and a regular pocket inside. Its the perfect bag for me. Oh, and the handle, I bought from Joanns. They now have a pretty nice collection of purse making supplies like; purse feet, handles, and magnetic clousures.

Thanks for explaining.....I was coming back on this morning to ask where you found that fabric! Great repurposing! Wear it well! It is the best thing I've seen in a while!
