You don't need a permit for a glue gun.

So cute - and what a handsome model you have!  Smiley  I'm not a real pro with the needle felting, but as far as the "smooth" part goes, I find that you really have to keep poking for longer than you think - this will make it more compact and less fuzzy.  Also, when I'm done I will snip off any stray roving with some tiny scissors.  Smiley

eep!  I love this chicken!
The fuzzyness can be caused by the type of wool.  One way to make it less fuzzy is to hot steam it with your iron.  And there's nothing saying you can't cut the fuzz off with your scissors (not that I've heard, anyway) or a razzor.
Keep up the good work!  and try not to poke your fingers to often Grin

A ton of poking should make it smoother.  I personally like how it is.  I think it sort of has a more feathery feel which is appropriate for the subject.  The only thing I would suggest is, seed beads work well for the pupils of eyes.  It might bring a little more life to the animals you make. You have a very beautiful rooster.  I love his silver color.

Oh so cute! I too love how you've done the tail. It looks just like the real life tail on your incredibly handsome cockerel. I used to have a frizzled Pekin cockerel, and he was a total poser whenever I had my camera - looks like yours might be the same! Cheesy
