Yes, sometimes I paint. These particular landscape views are about a year old, both of places that mean a lot to me. The first being a view of Pangodi lake and the second one of a field next to river Emajgi, both situated in Southern Estonia.

There is something about the light, the colours and the feeling of summertime here, up in the far Northeastern Europe. Summer is something we wait for the entire year and then suddenly it is here, all it's warmth and it's endless days, when the sun sets only for a few short hours. Everything smells sweet and is filled with sounds of life and happiness and yet, all this is so different from what you can experience in warmer climates. The colours are bright, but have this greenish cool hue to them, the sounds are loud, but at the same time a bit timid and shy, the sun is bright, but it is not the overbearing light of the south, but the friendly and welcomed warmth of the north.

I love the northern summers. And I hope I have managed to capture at least the slightest glimpse of it on canvas.

Both of the paintings are made on canvas with acrylic paint.

These are both beautiful. I love the first one.  The sky is gorgeous.  Looks like a summer storm is about to roll in.

They are beautiful - you are very talented. I recognise both your description of summer and the colors in the paintings from my country, Denmark.

Beautiful work!  I love the plein air style of painting.
