I found this fabric…it is almost like interfacing, but with wild 70s prints.  It is heavier than typical interfacing, almost heavy paper like.  I'm not a sewer, but am so curious about what it is!  I don't have photos taken, but could take these tomorrow.  Any thoughts?  I've tried searching the internet for printed interfacing, printed paper like fabric, etc.  Nothing!

Could it be some kind of upholstery fabric? It's possible that it's really stiff because it still has the "sizing" on it, the chemicals that make it look pretty on the bolt. Try washing a swatch and see what happens. It's also possible it's an outdoor fabric, designed for patio furniture and such, so it's waterproof and rot-resistant.

It could be a type of paper!  I had a paper dress in about 1972; I'm wearing it in our family photo that year.  I'm sure you know that paper is made from fibers like cotton and that it can be very sturdy (check out that hundred-dollar bill in your pocket--heh).  Paper clothing had a short trend for about a week and a half back then--the main problem being that it didn't really wash & wear very well.  Can't remember what happened to my dress after that photo, I just remember that I loved that dress & thought I was so stylin'.
