Last year, I made a banner for my festival booth, and I got so many compliments on it, I considered taking it down because I was afraid it was detracting from my product! Wink lol... anyway, I thought it would be fun to make some for childrens' rooms, or for a family name in the living room... so, I made my first one. I will do a couple of things a little different next time, (I sewed the buttonholes on the wrong end by mistake, so I had to improvise! DOH!)

It is a wall hanging that can be hung horizontally, vertically, or tied together as a soft letter book. Vertically, it is hooked together with buttons and holes, and then horizontally, tied through the buttonholes with ribbon. (In an ideal world, I would have had only one set of buttonholes, but I think it turned out pretty cute anyway, and I like the buttons across the top when it is horizontal.)

Button holes on the bottom. LOL, so me. This is a very versatile project as antidigger said, and the fabric combos are lovely.

Thanks! The fabrics were actually special to the recipient as well. They brown background was an old pair of her mother's pants, and the blue and brown I purchased at an African Dance performance I attended with her family. So it was sentimental as well! Smiley
