My aunt used to knit much smaller and simpler clown dolls that I always loved.  I love the clown with the sausages.  So much detail on these guys!

My fav is the Golfer guy, those pants he's wearing were done in swiss embroidery, took forever.  Do you still have any of your Aunts old doll's around? Would enjoy to see them!

Sadly, no.  The last time she gave me one I was like 5 years old. However, I was thinking of asking her to make me one.  I think I am going to use my 2 year old as an excuse!  You know, she is getting elderly and I would really like one of her dolls before she gets too old to make them anymore.

Oh please DO ask her ... I think she will be thrilled to do it, too. A lot of great old patterns are all too easily lost to time. Who knows, maybe somebody here can replicate it and keep it alive. That would be such an honor to your Aunt. Please do post if you get lucky enough to get her to make you another doll. I enjoy the old dolls very much; they have a certain charm to them.
