I recently completed this party dress for a wedding I was going to at the weekend.  I had a great time, the bride looked beautiful, the food was amazing and got lots of compliments so it was pretty successful all round.  I used Simplicity 2444, a project runway pattern which I am now in love with and taffeta for the main dress, even though lots of people said it would be too '80's.

Yes that is frost in the grass brrr!

I thought it would look good with a contrasting bow and I shortened the skirt as they are always too long on me.

I also love that you can tie the bow at the back or wrap it round like a sash to make the dress look different.  I am all about the convertible!

The grey sash is a brilliant touch, it brings out the beauty of the fabric and makes it very elegant.

I love the colors you used. I don't think it looks like the 80s at all.

It's lovely and you did a beautiful job on it!!  Believe me, I lived through the hell of the 80's bridesmaid dresses and yours is NOT like those godawful things  Cheesy Cheesy  Your sash looks really nice tied in the front and your body is proportioned nicely to make it look very chic.

Cute Cute Cute!

That sash is a great contrast and the versatility is always a good idea. The length choice was perfect, it looks great on you (I've had to hem patterns up to five inches before just to meet the length the garment is supposed to be in their sketches/photos...)!

I love the color of the bow on the dress.  It goes so well with the color of the dress.  Also, what a great dress to wear to a wedding.  Love it!
