So my sil is having another baby and so I thought I'd use my new-found love of crochet to make her something!

I used slightly less than one skein of Patons Big Baby 4 ply in white (which I accidently bought online thinking it was a different colour for another project...) and I love how it turned out. Its really soft, stretchy and perfect for a newborn.
I used this pattern off ravelry http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/diamond-flower-baby-blanket though it was all in UK terms so I had to translate it first.

Love this pattern. My friend is having her third baby and I wanted to make her a great baby blanket. I have been trying to learn a stitch called the v swatch stitch, but I think I like this better. Was this super hard?

Ok downloaded the pattern.

Thanks guys Smiley I will probably end up making her a hat and booties- though I have a number of preggy friends due all around the same time, so will be crocheting up a storm this winter!

This pattern wasn't hard (once i translated it), though at one point I had to undo 3 rows of crochet as my brain was turned off! I really should have done an extra row of stars but very nearly ran out of wool and I didn't want to buy any more!
