So I completed this skirt from a week or so ago!!  I serged a total of 92 Chinese silk brocade squares for the ruffles (could've been rufflier, but oh well). I also learned how to use my new machine to make buttonholes.  

Squares all sewn together, lined up on the original base skirt (which I switched to pleather later)

Finished skirt.  With dragon buttons! Smiley

Dragon buttons are so right for a chinese brocade skirt.

Wow, that is lovely!  I love patchwork things, ruffles and bright colours, so you've pretty much got it sorted here.  I love the buttons, the silk you chose and the whole shape of it.  Good job!
