i've been tinkering with Tunisian crochet lately, my version of baby steps into the world of knitting (which is scary for a crochetin girl like myself!).  after several small (scrapped) practice projects, i set out to make a shawl/wrap for my lovely friend Emma who is expecting in january.  here's my result and i am so proud of it!

it is loosely based on a pattern from the book Tunisian Crochet, i pretty much just used it as a guideline for increasing and decreasing, and made it with a much different yarn than the pattern called for.  it is made using Sensations Angel Hair, which is pretty much the softest yarn i've ever felt in my life!!!

i used Tunisian Simple Stitch and a size N afghan hook, i love the look of it and creates a really nice, dense fabric.  i can't wait to try more wearables using this stitch!

thanks for looking!   Grin

Oh wow! It looks so cozy. The color is beautiful.

I'm a knitter who is afraid to crochet Smiley. I think if you can do this, you can do any knitting project!

Just the right thing for your friend to cuddle inside with her new baby. I love the look your stitches, great baby blanket/mummy wrap you made.

How many skeins did it take to make it? I love the color, and the yarn is so soft

Lime-i'm all over it! Smiley

Ruby-thanks!

kelli-i used nearly six skeins of Angel Hair, which comes in skeins that are 120 yds long, thank goodness for joann's coupons which really helped keep the total price down!
