I keep meaning to post this and then not doing so. This was my parents x-mas present this year. It's your basic blackwork done on 18 count linen with one strand of six strand cotton floss. The whole thing is a 12.5 by 12.5 inch square. side The figures are pretty traditional but so are my parents. Grin

So... You call this simple? I cannot help but wonder what a more complicated design will be for you Wink.

I love it. I have been eyeing blackwork ever since I joined Craftster and I'd love to give it a go one day. You work is beautiful!

Beautiful!  But if that is simple I can't imagine what a non-simple piece would look like!

Awesome piece.  The design is really elegant, I really like the lattice border.  I'm sure your parents loved it.

How did you present it?  Is it framed?

I did frame it. It's in a 16x20 frame with a red mat. The mat opening is a circle with the piece oriented on the diagonal like it is in the picture.

Lilibet the best way to do blackwork is to get 10x10 graph paper and chart your design out on it.
