The painting is in its new home at the Mid Island Y in Plainview, NY. The facility is going thru some massive improvements, so I will have to wait till all is settled over there before I can get a good picture to post of it in its new home. They absolutely LOVE the painting and are planning on doing a big unveil when it is presented to the public. I can't wait to see it again! I miss it!

It is FINISHED! Finished it a couple of days ago but got too busy with other things and finally got to take pictures this morning. This is it! All done...well except for that seam in the middle but there is nothing I can do about that until I get it downstairs and put the two sections together permanently. Then it gets varnished and framed. I also fixed that other problem I mentioned in my August 14th update. See if you can figure out what it was. It is kind've obvious! The next time I post here will be the last time because then the painting will be in its permanent home at which point I will post a picture of that event.

Most of the sky done! Got the light blue in so that will be end the sky problem. But I DO see another problem. I won't tell you what it is till I fix it, then I'll show you the difference it'll make. But you will need to first compare THIS foto to the NEXT foto I will post after it's been fixed. Notice too that the sun is gone!
But you DO see the difference now, don't you? The light blue is way better than the dark blue. Scroll a bit (a few fotos down) to still see that dark blue sky...yikes!

Been tearing into the painting for the last couple of days...stuck waiting anyway. Been working on areas that annoyed me. Got rid of the sun, too. Loved it, but it had to go.

July 11, 2013
Working on redoing the sky. Looks lots better (so far). Getting itchy fingers tho and am wanting to redo some other things as well. I don't want to make "that" mistake again - ignoring my instincts.

July 7th, 2013
I started taking out the dark blue and am feeling better about it already.  Now that blue sky is in the trash bin.  Just a wee bit more to go!

July 5th, 2013
Decided that dark blue sky simply MUST GO! And so I have decided to go with the lighter blue even tho there are things about the light blue that I don't like...but...so be it!

Finally - completed! Yaaa! Ummm...make that a "no."  The sky is way too dark. Ugh!

From the beginning:
To start, the photo above is a photo of the completed project which is painted with actual jelly beans. There are lots of photos posted of the work in various stages of development.  I hope the photos work. I take lots of photos during its making and thought you might enjoy to follow along. My apologies for the few lousy fotos posted here; the majority of them are pretty decent. I need a better camera or may actually have to learn how to use the thing properly.

IN THE BEGINNING:

FIRST CAME THE OLD PHOTO FOUND ON THE WEB

It's a beautiful picture. Is it treated in some way to stop it perishing? I recently cleaned up a sticky lolly from the back of a cupboard where it had been stashed and forgotten and dissolved!  Cheesy  So I wondered if your artwork is lacquered or something, to stop air and/or sweet-toothed creatures destroying it.  It is really lovely.

I will post better pictures as soon as I can. I can't seem to get the pictures to come in here in a larger format or a close up format. It seems no matter what size they are, they come in here in the one size.

I'm so glad you got the pictures up. They look great. Thanks for explaining the techs. Very interesting. Love the stain glass effect.
