Oh my goodness, I'm so envious of you and loving that sweater!

I've just taken up knitting from being a die-hard crochet gal and it's soo frustrating to be going back to the beginning with something (I'm doing a scarf and it seems to be taking forever)

I take very very much inspiration from the fact that you're a first year knitter so maybe there is light at the end of the tunnel!

great work and congrats on your knitaverissary.  after years of knitting i am still no good at finishing sweaters.

Wow! You did a really, really great job! I'm just going to echo the sentiment of "you should be very proud" that's already been showered on you :-)

I'm curious to know if you made any adjustments to the pattern for better fit & shaping. I always have trouble with shaping, but this sweater looks like it fits you like a glove!

Thank you Smiley

The designer is amazing, so I stuck to the pattern. The only change I made was the collar; this was supposed to be a hooded sweatshirt.

I love the color and the collar. The whole thing is wonderful and like everyone else has said, you should be super proud.

Did you by chance also knit the cute hat you're wearing in the photos?

Thanks! Yes I made the hat, too. It's my favorite hat, I think I'm going to make a second in different colors for this winter. Here is my project page: http://www.ravelry.com/projects/mandyandbingley/candy-stripes-and-sprinkles and the link to the designer's page: http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/candy-stripes-and-sprinkles
The pattern is totally worth it, since you get two hat patterns, a striped version and the one I made, the Sprinkles. I love the stitch pattern of the Sprinkles.
