I made vegan chocolate last night!  I've been wanting to make some for a while and my first attempt was a complete mess due to using agave nectar instead of sucanat.

Behold!

The one to the left contains:  Certified organic cocoa butter, certified organic and fair trade cacao powder, certified organic vanilla bean, certified organic sucanat, certified organic acai powder, certified organic hemp seeds.

The one to the right contains:  Certified organic cocoa butter, certified organic and fair trade cacao powder, certified organic sucanat, certified organic maca powder, wildharvested bee pollen.

They may not look the best (I let them sit on the counter to harden rather than putting them in the freezer, I don't know if this has anything to do with it) but they do taste good!

I think they look delicious!!  Do you recall the measurements or process you used for each?

Dreadlocklove, I think you are amazing...
I have spent wayyy too much time stalking you today. (don't worry, in a good way;)) I love all the things you do, and homemade chocolate sounds like a totally worthwhile endeavour.

Good or bad, it's all the same and thank you...  I feel honoured that someone takes interest.  =)

In another experiment, I used carob powder (with kava root powder) instead of cacao.  Not to be tried again unless you enjoy a gritty texture.  Carob doesn't dissolve.

of course!
hmm... how do they make carob chips than? or is this one of those, 'when mass produced' they add lots of other things that stabilize it to keep it from being gritty...
