Well hello there knitting board.

I  have known the basics of knitting for a while but I'm still a beginner. I guess I would put myself in the medium to advanced section of the beginners category. Anyway I was looking for a pattern that was interesting and challenging but not too complicated (sometimes knitting patters look like gibberish to me). I found this great one http://knitty.com/ISSUEwinter08/PATTfishy.php and it was a good way to use up two leftover skeins.

I highly recommend this pattern if you are a beginner like me who wants to step it up (just a bit).

The pattern was was easy to follow. The only change I made was to the tail. When it was finished I felt like the tail was too small so I made a simple add on of 3 rows of single crochet. Oh and I didn't like the x's for eyes. Who wants a dead fish on their head?

Anyway I love him(?) and am already planning the next one.

That is one amazing fish. I love the yarn and I think I agree with you about the eyes.

One does not simply walk into Mordor. Its black gates are guarded by more than just orcs. There is evil there that does not sleep. The great eye is ever watchful. It is a barren wasteland, riddled with fire, ash, and dust. The very air you breathe is a poisonous fume.......
