This is the first time I tried out my new kitchenaid! The picture isn't the best, but the lighting is really weird today. Cloudy but very bright due to all the snow.

Almost a double batch of shortbread, in four delicious flavors:
Left/top: Ginger-cinnamon (with some normal sugar added)
Middle: Chocolate chip
Right/bottom: Raisin
and my favorite, the golden row on the top/right: Orange-coconut Cheesy (orange zest and coconut flakes)

I've never made shortbread before, but I've tasted it, so I figured I'd just toss in whatever flavors came to me. Boyfriend approved, and he normally hates ginger, but it goes incredibly well with the cinnamon.

OOo, those all look yummy Melladh!

Did you use ginger powder or minced ginger root? I LOVE ginger in all forms and would love to try a new shortbread recipe. Smiley

My usual flavored shortbread is orange peel with mini chocolate chips.

Orange and chocolate is classic in all forms Cheesy I'll probably do that next time.

I used powder this time, partially because I was out of ginger root (and partially because it's just easier than to mince ginger)

If you love ginger and haven't tried this before, I've got an awesome recipe for ginger fudgecookies (I can't really translate the name properly) that I could send you! It's a pretty average cookie base, but it uses sirup and powdered ginger for a special taste.
