I got this dress for $1 at Saint Vincent DePaul a while back. I took it in, lopped off the bottom, and made a belt for it.

Here is the frumpy before:



Here is the not so frumpy after (I didn't add sleeves. I'm wearing a shirt underneath):

I love it. I do like charcoal grey dresses and your changes to it make it look so much better, I love the belt too, it makes a smashing highlight.

I absolutely LOVE this!! I see those frumpy old jumpers at Goodwill all the time and always wished there was something I could do with them.  You have a great eye.  I'm hitting this rocks.

The detailed stitching on the belt really made this dress go from "meh" to "wow"!

You have a terrific figure, so showing it off with a belt was a good move---highlighting a tiny waist!

The whole look is modern and fresh...thanks for sharing your re-do!
