I was thrilled to find a package in the mail with my name on it yesterday afternoon.  I was even more excited to realize that it was from my buddy, sarahj2001!

And the contents were just as lovely:

* A skein of yarn that is so soft and the colors remind me of the hair of some mythical creature.  I love it.

* Surprise! Two hand-made soaps--raspberry swirl and beeswax honey. I'm a bee-lover and delight in all things honey and natural and striped in the apiary colors, so the latter is especially thrilling.  My daughter, on the other hand, has taken to all things pink (despite my encouragement in other directions), so is in rapture at "her" new pink soap from "Ms. Sarah."

Thanks, partner!

Now, I must begin dreaming up ideas of how to use it!

amyc.

P.S. Sorry...I'm not sure why how to get better quality of the photos, so sarahj2001, if you have better photos, please feel free to post them!

The Wandering Albatros... so gorgeous.

That hat is adorable, jexx!

Raspberry swirl soap sounds delightful... yum.
You can't go wrong with blue and brown yarn. Pretty!

Ugh. I'm getting anxious. I tracked my package the day before it was expected to arrive, and it was at a sorting facility a few miles away. Cut to two days later, it has traveled back south down to Oregon, and then past me up to Seattle. I'm just crossing my fingers they'll stop playing hot potato and give me my yarn tomorrow!

I've been tracking you package too! I was really confused when it started going back down to Oregon... It was supposed to get to you by Friday, what in the world are they doing?! You're only a couple of states away it shouldn't be taking this long. Sad

Yay! My awesome package from Shannin arrived today!

She mentioned having extra spindles, so she sent me a two! Along with cards for me to write info when I start spinning my own yarns! So excited to use them!

Then some pretty blue and brown baby alpaca. So soft, and I just love brown and blue!

And then, most awesome of all, some banana silk yarn!! I don't know if I'll ever use this because I don't know if I'll ever find the "right" project for it. Cheesy

The colors are brighter in real life, but I just couldn't capture it. So pretty, though.

Thank you so much for being an awesome partner, Shannin! I love it all Smiley

Yum! Gorgeous yarns! That banana yarn is awesome. I've only spun a small amount of it on it's own.

All these drop spindles are making me want to bring mine out of retirement. I only use a drop spindle to andean ply small amounts of left over yarn.

Merino, banana, alpaca, even newspaper and plastic bags--so many amazing materials that could be used to make beautiful yarns.  I wish one of my new, creative, hand-spinning friends lived close enough to be my personal guide into the world of spinning. Let me know when you're in town!
