I feel as though I have been a bit of a crazy embroiderer lately, But it's just so soothing and now if I sit down to watch something on the telly, My hands feel empty if I don't have something to stitch!

I made this for the January Pinterest swap.  I really like it and I had a really hard time letting it go.  I based the design on the original renderings ( I think?) and I redrew it so that Alice looked nicer ( literally, she looked so mean in the picture..) and it fit better on the hoop.  Also somehow in translation it looks like she is about to karate chop somebody. Funny...

The big thing that was new to me on this hoop was employing cross hatching.  It really gives it that kind of sketchy look.  It was a lot of fun to use, and filled the space quickly, so I probably will employ that technique again.

This was a lot of fun and I think I need to look at doing more things in this sketchy kind of style...

Still curious? Check out my happy lil' blog.

Oh, fun! The sketchy-ness really does look good. Love all the cards too!

I really love Alice in Wonderland, but I am picky about what I like.  I want it to be the way I remember it from the books when I was young.

I love yours.  It is just right!  Beautiful job!

gorgeous, and I love the way it fills the hoop and works with the shape so well.

Are the cross hatch stitches long stitches or rows of stitches?
