I got a request from a friend to make her husband a manly diaper bag, that she could still use.  Husband wanted a Chicago Bears bag more than anything.  She didn't want that.  Using this tutorial, here's what I came up with.

Here is the bag closed.

Open.

Inside.

Back.

This bag has 9 pockets!!  Took me about 5 hours to make, including the measuring the pieces out.  Wishing now I'd made an actual pattern though, because I really want a bag of this style for myself.  I used canvas on the outside, so I could skip the interfacing steps.  And a NFL cotton on the inside.

It is probably one of the most detailed bags I've ever made.  I'm pretty proud of it.  Smiley

Smiley  Thanks for looking.

Ha!  Love how you "hid" the Bears fabric.   Great job - I love all the pockets.

The bag turned out really great!  I love how you were able to incorporate both of their likes.

Thanks guys.  I'm actually in the process of making two for myself.  I can't wait to have a bag that has tons of pockets just for me.  Plus it seems my kids think I need to carry all of their stuff also.  I'll post pics of the bags here when I get them all finished.  Wink

Hi again!  I just finished another one, for a different friend.  Its not going to be used as a diaper bag for her yet.  Maybe one day.  But a giant messenger bag.  Smiley  Here's a pic.

The inside is lined with the same print that I incorporated on the flap.  I didn't want it to be a plain green purse.  I thought it made it a little prettier.  But the pocket placements are exactly as shown on the original.

Thanks for looking.

C&C welcome. Smiley
