Woohooo!  We'll take over Rav! mwahaaaahahaaaahaaa a!

So I realized it's been a month since I posted that challenge to see how much you could spin in 10 minutes....  I did do it.  Although, i pared it down to 5.. lol.  I tried spinning worsted once, and once woolen.  And then i did it again.  I think I ended up with ~20yards Worsted and ~24 yards woolen. However, the woolen wasn't the nicest, thick and thin and kind of a mess.  But oh well.  If I can spin that much in 5 minutes, and if I'm not trying to break my record, I'll do fine.

I've recently acquired a new wheel (but I'm not telling until s/he's all set up what wheel it is - you know how they all seem to have a personality.  My Traveler's a Lady,  this one, not sure yet! obviously because I've not spun on it yet)  So my goal of spinning Lace and Art this TdF is actually going to happen! woohoo!  When I get sick and tired of spinning worsted style for lace weight,  I'll hop to my other wheel for free form fun!

I just signed up for Team Craftster and the Lantern Rouge group.  Having moved and doing some remodeling has me stretched a bit thin right now, but by the time the Tour starts, I'll be all settled (I hope!).

Hi MLF!  Long time, no see!

I haven't done much spinning lately, but my friend's sister just bought 7 alpacas and stopped in to get a spinning lesson.  I gave her a spindle, some fiber and a couple of spinning mags to play with -- I'm sure she's hooked.  The next time I drive out her way, I'm going to stop in and meet her alpacas (she calls them her "boys".)  I think I may be allergic to alpaca, though, because the only time I used it to knit socks, I got hives on my hands and forearms.  Cheesy

Hello, my friend!  I've been busy with enabling young & old alike in our area .... now it's time for gardening  Besides mine at the farm, I'm helping with a community garden in town.

Where did you move to??

Booooo about allergies to alpaca .... I experience the same thing with angora.

We moved out to the boonies in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.  We've been in the U.P. for 2 years, renting.  Yuck!  But now we have a little place on a river which is connected to a great big lake.  My dream come true!  Doing some remodeling (did I say that already?) and having quite a time keeping myself together.  Having my craft space back together is reassuring, however!  Just sitting here by my sewing machine makes me feel better!

I remember that you were moving to UP.  It is beautiful up there. I've only seen pictures, but would love to see it in person some day.

I joined! I'm on Team Craftster, Team Rookie, and Team Ashford. I thought about joining team Fleece Bottomed Girls, because of my love of Queen. But, I figured three groups was probably more than enough for a newbie. So, next time. This sounds really fun. This will be my first time participating of course. Smiley
