Practice spins/ Challenges

April 20 - How many yards can you spin in 10 minutes?  Can you increase it?  Do you want to increase it?  Some time over the next week, grab a spare bobbin and test this out.  Practice with different weights of yarn.  Do you spin more lace in 10 minutes? or more bulky?
Also lets think about our personal goals too this week!

Basically, you spin while watching the Tour de France.  You don't necessarily have to watch, but groups set goals, and there are prizes to be won.  It'll be lots of fun!

Ahh!  Glad I asked.  I assumed it was something about spinning fleeces from around the world, like spinning as many varieties of fleece as possible.

You definitely don't have to spin a bunch of different breeds, but you could, if that's a goal you set.    It's really just a fun way to set a goal and have folks cheering you on, while you cheer others on.


I wonder if I get this posted to facebook if it would get a bit more attention... Not like the tour isn't for another 4-5 months, but still....  I'm already stoked!

That sounds like fun!  I may have to join in, assuming I've developed any proficiency by then.  I'm completely new to spinning.  Currently working on getting my hands on a drop spindle.

No proficiency required!!  You just need to have personal goals in mind, and for you, that might be to better your skills, learn to ply, or even make a substantial amount to make something with!
