Hey guys Smiley Hope you're all having a lovely 2012 so far. I posted a similar recipe to this a while ago, but I revised it and added a creamy raw chocolate frosting and it made it 200% butter!...I meant *better... woops, typo Tongue There is no butter in this.

I highly recommend these brownies...but I have to keep them hidden so we don't eat them too quickly. However, they are dense and full of rich flavour, so it's hard to eat a lot at a time any way. Yummy with coffee. Smiley

Ingredients

Brownie Mixture

2 cups Almond Meal (Can use 1 cup Almond Meal, 1 cup ground Cashews)
1 cup Cacao Powder
3 1/2 cups Pitted Dates
1/2 cup Jungle Peanuts (can use regular peanuts)
Pinch of pink sea salt

Icing

1/3 cup Soaked Dates
1/4 cup Yacon/other liquid sweetener
1/2 cup Ripe Avocado
1/3 cup Cacao powder
Optional Garnish:

Raw Cacao Nibs
Shredded Coconut

This looks YUM! Anything with dates in it is okay in my book.

Sweet! Some people are put off by dates. I often get asked of things they can use instead of dates, but they really aren't that noticeable. They just add a nice sweetness and help to hold ingredients together.
