Wow, how cool is that set up-lettuce all winter!!  Since my own backyard is under a foot of snow and ice and we just came out of a -40 cold snap, I doubt I would ever be able to garden in the winter but it has always been my dream.  I obviously need to move down to your area Cheesy

Your hubby did a great job on the greenhouse!  How portable is that kind of set up-would it be reusable if you had to move it to another property do you think?

Wow! I'm impressed! Do you have to provide any extra lighting? And, are the raised beds in contact with the ground, or elevated? I don't have the right yard for this (I live in a city and the neighbor's house is only 10 feet away... not much sunlight available, even in the summer), but I think I'll share the idea with my sister. She loves to garden and would totally love a winter greenhouse!
No extra lighting is required, we seem to have enough sunlight to keep everything cranking.  The raised beds are installed on top of our plastic flooring, which is on top of a layer of gravel.  They're completely self contained.

Come on down!  It's connected to metal pipes that are pounded about 2 feet into the ground.  I'm sure it could all be disassembled but geez, I'd hate to be around my husband during that process!  I forgot to mention all of the pieces were delivered on a flatbed truck without any instructions(!)  When they finally arrived, there were two whole pages.  Roll Eyes

Thanks for the added info, MW! I'm guessing that my sister and my BIL could rig up something similar...

I'd love you to share some favorite recipes, HSG!  If you're willing to post them, perhaps put them in the cooking section so everyone can enjoy them.

That is amazing! My mouth is watering just looking at it all. An indoor garden must make winter much more bearable!
