my submission for softies for mirabel. by KnitXcorE, on Flickr

I finally finished this lion that I've been working on since November! I'm so proud :-)
She's made almost completely of vintage materials (with the exception of felt anf fiberfill). I even based the pattern of of something from a 1965 craft magazine.
Her "mane" was created using a waldorf doll technique where you hand sew each loop and tack it down with a satin stitch.  The eyes were based on a Dakin Dreampet, and I added the sequins. The dress looks simple in the photo but it actually has a ton pleats at the top.
Sadly, I have to pack her up and ship her off next week for a charity event in Australia. I guess I'll always have the pictures.

Very sweet. I understand how you would have trouble parting with it.

I love your lion. The detail is very well done. Hope she goes to an appreciative new owner.
