Salt Dough Ornament Tutorial

Great tutorial Sweets!  I had not thought to stamp salt dough ornaments!  They look really pretty!

That is a great idea! I use it in my class sometimes, but never used cookie cutters!

I can add a tip:
If you have the salt dough almost ready, you could add some food colour or paint to colour your dough. That way it all has a nice colour! The more you paint you add, the more intense the colour will be.

What is the usual life of salt dough? Never seen it done this way, and makes me wonder about other applications.

These are just about 1,000 times prettier than the salt dough ornaments I made as a kid! They are fantastic!!

If you spray it with clear coat paint, it can last for years. 

I don't know how long if you don't though.

Does anyone know how well water based paints/inks work on salt dough?  I'm thinking of making some with my not quite 2 year old and am worried about both the mess as well as her poor tummy if we use acrylics etc.
