Oh my gosh is he cute or what?? :)What a wonderfull idea! Never thought about it when my girl had to wear hers..May I pin this on my Pinterest special needs board? If you'd rather not I understand :-)

yes feel free!!

We were told that Avalon will probably need another brace before he gets surgery as he will outgrow this one rather quickly. The hubby and I have already decided that the next one will be a bullet proof SWAT vest and im going to buy those bullet stickers they have for your car.thanks for the ideas and compliments everybody...Ill give it another go painting " A Shell for Avalon"!

What a brilliant thing to do.  Makes it so much more kid friendly.

Awww!!! That's such a wonderful thing to do for your kiddo. I'd go with plastic paints, too. It looks awesome! And I've been trying to think what other fun things that could become besides a turtle and a swat team vest, if you want a change.  He could be a mighty dragon. Or an armadillo. Or a knight's armor? A wee lil' star wars storm trooper?
Anyway...love the turtle paint job, and best of luck to your little guy!

wow, I really cannot believe the overwhelming compliments. Thank you so much everyone! I still have to go buy plastic paints and try it that way, however Avalon  is supposed to wear the brace basically 24/7 except when in the bathtub so it makes it a little difficult. I will post pics when I do get it done though!
