Thanks so much for your kind comments.

I made the pattern for these hats myself but I did spend quite a bit of time searching the net looking for tutorials on hat making before I made the first hat.   This site was probably the most helpful.

My hats are much smaller and a slightly different shape than those produced in the tutorial I found. I used the same basic principles but  I developed some variations so that I could make my hat bases from cardboard. I made these hats by cutting small pieces of cardboard and then sticking them together with masking tape.  I used cereal boxes and there is no millinery wire in any of my little hats.

Thank you for asking for a tutorial but I went through quite of lot of trial and error before I ended up with something that worked and I was happy with.  And the process for making these is quite time consuming.  So I don't see myself making a tutorial.

Awesome hats!  You have such a great eye for color combos, and I love the embellishments. Thanks for the link.  I'll have to give it a shot if I can find some appropriate fabric in the stash.

These are awesome! So creative! Could you post a picture of them on the tree? How are you attaching them to the tree?

And thank you so much for posting that link. I love learning new techniques when building hats. Smiley

I have put away most of my trees and ornaments but I still had one of my wall trees still up.

Here is a photo with the hats on the wall tree.

You ask how they are attached to the tree. I just bend the branches up into the crown of the hat or I tuck them in between the branches.

You did a fantastic job. I love the look of them on the tree. I think it would be so cute to water proof them and hang them outside somewhere..
