Made this rug on my new shiny peg loom (that daddy made me for Christmas.)
I've never woven anything before so I kept it simple. It's a 3''6 by 2''10 ish rug, just the size to fit my mum's spare room (the one that was my childhood bedroom before she redecorated just before Christmas).
The weft is cream wool, I left the tassels unknotted as I thought it looked cleaner (they will need to be knotted before cleaning when it needs washing).
The weave is red wool, with bits of the cream wool intertwined at random intervals. I tried to keep it evenly interspersed with cream.
here's a close up of the

I used extra chunky wool - a wool acrylic mix, i think it was about 51%:49%. It took longer than I expected, but was easy and fun to do sat in front of a few DVDs I received for Christmas Smiley
Apparently it looks great in situ, and I can confirm that it works well for cats

Awesome job!  It looks like a very functional rug, and it has cat approval, so it's total win!

Mum says it works  little too well for cats... becasue my cat was sitting on it the whole time I was working it so it must smell of girl-cat, now her boy-cat won't get off it, he keeps kneeding at it! Note to self; febreeze future projects before sending to prevent long-distance cat knuzzles!
