Your space is so lovely and inspiring!  When I shacked up with the ManFlesh he gave up his foosball room to me and I lovingly repaired the sheetrock, painted the walls and even did a faux finish on the floor.  Then I put my furnishings in and installed my books on the shelf unit by color.  Then I coarsely filled it with boxes and it has stayed as such... PLUS the strewing of things out of the boxes and onto all the horizontal surfaces, including the floor.  Kittykill can vouch for it.  Sigh.  Maybe in March I'll treat it with the respect and love it deserves.

I want to be an empty nester, too!  Too bad for me, my kids are only 4, 2, and 1, so no empty nest anytime soon  We don't have enough rooms for me to have my own crafting room, but I definitely need to set up a dedicated space! Someday I'll have an awesome space like yours!

They're not lying about time flying by when your kids are young! It doesn't seem that long ago when my girls were 4 and 7. I used to work off the kitchen table, so I know where you're coming from. Heck, when the kids are as young as yours, it's amazing to even find time to craft! Enjoy, them, though. It's a remarkably short time before they're out. (Now I'm getting all sappy, missing my girls.)

Yep, the Empty Nest is a double-edged sword, so to speak.
 My 24 year old son was encouraged to fly on his own a while.  I made his room into a "guest room" during the transitional phase, but now 17 year old miss.dustbunny moved in. 
At first it was just the comfier bed, then her stuff started oozing in. My soon-to-be (and long deserved) work room/sanctuary was taken over by more progenitor!  Turns out, I couldn't move forward with taking on the space because I was so sad about the man cub not being there.  I can't even think about my daughter leaving, but I am beginning to feel ready to push her out of my work space. 
Seeing Racky's lovely room helped to fan the flames on that!
