I love entrelac, and I made this for a friend who was in the hospital to get his appendix taken out. I used Lion Brand Homespun in Tudor; I did not match the dye lots, so it came out with a cool variety of color. I used bigger needles, so the squares are huge. It's on my king sized bed. It is soft and warm, and now I want to make one for myself, even though it took a lot of time and yarn.

The border I did a row of double crochet and then I did a double crochet/chain for the 2nd row.

Holy entrelac batman. Lol
you did a great job on that blanket. I have tried entrelac before but I just couldn't get the hang of it.

This is great!  And I'm sure your friend really appreciates it!  Learning entrelac is on my list of 50 projects this year.  My SO has decided that he wants an entrelac scarf so its spurring me to go learn!  lol

Thank you both.  Grin

Entrelac is a little difficult to learn at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's really easy. It's mostly just picking up stitches.  Smiley

This is simply gorgeous. I'm sure your friend really appreciates your thoughtfulness! I love Homespun and this is the perfect use for it!! Could you let us know how many skeins were in this and what size needles. I would love to make something similar for my bed  Grin

Thanks so much!  Grin
Sure, I used about 15 1/2 skeins ( 1/2 skein for the border) on size 8 mm circulars ( I think that's a size 11 or 12). Smiley
You should give it a try; it was super fun to knit!
