Hey everybody, I was bored this morning and decided to make a pretty shirt.
I hope you all like it.  Smiley

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v284/fogtom/shirt018.jpg

sitting down.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v284/fogtom/shirt025.jpg
another of sitting down.
Haha, that black thing is my cat Heraldo. He always tries to get into my pictures when I take them outside.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v284/fogtom/shirt029.jpg

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v284/fogtom/shirt041.jpg
my sister took this for me.
I know I messed up the neckline a bit, I intend on fixing it later.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v284/fogtom/shirt046.jpg

Tutorial
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v284/fogtom/tutorial002.jpg
First take a wifebeater or a tank top that fits you fine but you don't wear it and then measure from the bottom of the neckline to where you want the top of the shirt to hit. cut the shirt there and then cut off the back.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v284/fogtom/tutorial003.jpg
Fold the fabric in half and then lay the top of the tank top on it.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v284/fogtom/tutorial004.jpg
cut out the fabric around it leaving a little extra around the edges, don't cut the neckline out though. Also leave about two inches of fabric on the sides of the tank top so that way it'll fit really well (rather have to make it smaller then have to add fabric) Especially if the fabric isn't all that stretchy.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v284/fogtom/tutorial005.jpg
remove the other layer of fabric so that way you only have one and cut out the neckline.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v284/fogtom/tutorial006.jpg
now take the other layer of fabric and lay the tank top on top of it. You need the tank top to measure make sure you keep the straps the right size. Cut out just a little dip type thing in the back.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v284/fogtom/sddfsdf.jpg
sew up the sides and the top of the straps.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v284/fogtom/tutorial009.jpg
picture of the top of the straps being sewn.

after done flip the top part right side out and then put it on. Make sure that it fits. If it is too big then rip out the seams and trim away some of the fabric.
Hem the neckline.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v284/fogtom/tutorial013.jpg
now measure how long you want the bottom of the shirt to be and lay it on the fabric. Cut outwards so the bottom of the shirt flares out.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v284/fogtom/tutorial014.jpg
cut triangles the same length as the bottom of your shirt.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v284/fogtom/tutorial015.jpg
sew all the bottom of the shirt together.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v284/fogtom/tutorial016.jpg
sometimes the bottom of the triangle is longer than the shirt and if that happens just cut it.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v284/fogtom/tutorial028.jpg
now attatch the top ot the shirt to the bottom of the shirt. Sew it and then try it on to see if everything fits alright.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v284/fogtom/df.bmp
it should look something like that.
And of course, my batteries had to run out so the rest of the tutorial was done in paint shop.

Now if you decide you like the shirt without the sleeves then you can skip the next part and just hem the sleeve holes.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v284/fogtom/sleeves.bmp
These are the sleeves.
They are kind of difficult to master but you kind of just have to play around with it to get it right.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v284/fogtom/howtoattatchsleeves.bmp
after sewing the first sleeve together then hem it. Then attatch it to the shirt like it shows in the picture above. Then repeat it for the other sleeve.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v284/fogtom/shirt041.jpg
VOILA! all done.

haha tahnk you Smiley
I'm not sure about the fabric, I got it from my aunt but it's kind of stretchy and it's kind of a heavy material.

That is my first tutorial ever, please let me know if it's confusing.
I apologize in advance if it does end up confusing.

I don't really sew except by hand when I need to so it may be just me, but I lose you after your batteries died. I really like your top, however, and up until the sleeves I think i can actually make this once I get my sewing machine up. Good job  Wink.

That's awesome, it looks amazing on you, and I think I'm going to go make one, like, right now. The only thing that confused me in the tutorial was the triangles but then I scrolled up and here:

you can see where the triangles go. So not actually very confusing at all. Cheesy

It's amazing, seriously. Great job!!

haha yeah, I'm sorry about that. I really had trouble explaining the sleeves and in my opinion the sleeves are the most confusing part.

 Shocked
Fogtom, that is gorgeous!  I'd make about 7 of them - in every colour and sleeve style possible.
I love the fabric, too...
Great Job!

Hey everyone, this is fogtom.
My computer crashed that had all hte pictures on it and so I can't repost them. I would take new ones but because my computer crashed it also had the program that uploaded my pictures off of my camera onto the computer and I lost the disc that gets the program on the computer, therefore I cannot get new ones on the computer.
I'm really really sorry.
Maybe if my computer gets fixed and the pictures are still on it or something I could repost them.
Sorry again!

by the way, if any of you are wondering why I changed my username it's because I can't remember my password to my fogtom one hahaha it was saved on the other computer.

Haha okay so since i felt bad for being unable to show the pictures I decided to show you what the shirt looked like. Yes it was made in paintshop (although I'm sure you were fooled because of the stunningly life-like drawing, don't worry, I've fooled many before Wink ) so that's probably why my body looks too big for my head.

and I managed to find the fabric (couldn't find the shirt, but that isn't suprising considering how I "organize" my clothes all over my floor) so then I scanned it.

::sniffle:: Thank you for drawing us a picture. It looks very pretty, and I love the fabric. I like the style of the shirt too, I think I'm going to try and make a shirt like that. Fortunately, I suck at following tutorials, so no worries there.  Smiley
