Recently, I bought a book of charts that was published in Italy (2009), and one of the charts calls for several colors that don't exist according to DMC's american and italian-based websites. (the book was published in conjunction with DMC, so they would only use DMC floss)

The colors in question are:

3307
3321
3349
3415
3472
3550
3666
3742
3800

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Hey there!
At first I thought those numbers are DMC's discontinued Metallics which are reintroduced with different numbers as Light Effects; however, I just checked and it seems like they are all 5000's numbers...  Humm.

And none of the discontinued threads have those numbers either.
You know, I'd see if there is a spot on the DMC page to drop them an email about this, since it's their book.  Maybe it's an error, or they can point you in the right direction?

That seriously stumped me too!  Good luck, and keep us all posted.  Now I'm really curious too!

Looking to de-stash cross stitch magazines, particularly Cross Stitch Gold or New Stitches?  Please drop me a line!  I'd love to swap or buy some missing from my library!

I found a couple of links that talk about discontinued numbers.  Google is a wonderful thing! Smiley
Apparently they discontinued a bunch of numbers in 2001.  I also learned that DMC is a French company.  Maybe the numbers are from a French listing?

Here is a complete chart.  I didn't look to see whether or not the ones you are looking for are on it though.

That was what I thought too- but none of the discontinued numbers are the numbers glass_slipper listed.

(I googled rather than dig out my saved  floss listing since it's on a thumbdrive somewhere in my computer stuff...)  Smiley

Yeah, I've been looking at discontinued color lists, but no dice.

Below, I'm sharing pictures of the completed charts, and the floss key. Upon closer inspection, I think the "mystery colors" might be a metallic of some sort, but of what I have no idea. Will try to e-mail DMC in the near future.
