Isn't that the line in the movie CHRISTMAS STORY
It's one of my hubby's favourite movies and this year my son thought he should have some electric sex of his own, hubby that is. So my then 13 year old son (now 14) set himself a mission. "Dad needs a reading lamp, and what better to read by then a sexy leg?" One day when we were shopping for Halloween goodness at the local Value Village (thirft store) my cell phone went off with the following message "Mum Mum come quick i found it im in furniture!!!!!!!!!" And there I found my boy hugging a leg!

He even tried to build a box for it! He wanted to convince the pizza delivery man to deliver a telegram and the leg on Christmas Day too but I told not to push his luck Smiley

Thanks for looking! As always C&C are welcome and hoped for also, I hope i put this in the right spot it's been so long since I've posted anything!

This is great! I have always wanted one of those lamps, but not the price tag that comes with them.  I may have to make myself one next Christmas!

That's so funny! My family is a Christmas story family also. My father and mother have the leg lamp gleaming in their front window, and this year for christmas my brother got one for his house, and my sister and i got one for our house. (she is my roomie). They even came in boxes that said Fragile.   Fra-Gee-Lay.....why...that must be italian.

Thanks for the comments I am so proud of my son, I think he did an awesome job too.
I know it's weird right, not the kind of thing you would like to find in a thrift store.

Well if you can believe it $5.00, for the leg $5.00 for lamp shade (that too at the thrift store), $8.00 for the fringe, $10.00 for the (pair) of shoes (thrift store) which my son thought was not fair since he really only wanted one, $2.00 for the stocking at the dollar store, the wood we already had, and a night of helping his uncle put up some drywall for exchange for the electrical.
