As a huge nerd+a huge crafter, these are the coolest things ever. I am going to make these (well, not these, exactly, but something decoupaged with comic books). I have a blog, and I wanted to put these on there (linked and credited, of course) because they are the coolest decoupage things I found. Technically, the article is about Elmer's, which I know you didn't use, but I needed something that was decoupaged so that I could mention that modge podge is the same thing as thinned down Elmer's (you also didn't use Modge Podge, but someone replicating this project probably would, right?). If you want to see the article with your picture, it is at http://sticktoyourglueguns.wordpress.com/2012/12/27/a-love-letter-to-elmers/.

These look absolutely awesome.  I have made a few pairs of shoes along these lines and I have to ask, are you actually able to wear them without all your hard work cracking and flaking off?  If so, what sort of 'Podge are you using that actually works?

Wow, thanks everyone!!!  I was out of the country since Jan 5th and just got back to realize what happened *blush*.  I'm so glad you liked my shoes enough to put me up there as one of the top 5 of 2012!  I'll admit that I love these so much, I keep them on display in my living room with some of my costume pieces (including my Ruby slippers) and my trophies.  I've worn them a few times, and they actually held up to a misting/light rain that happened out of no where.  I bought more comics for more shoes, I just need to find the time with all my other projects lol.

winddragyn - I'm glad you liked them enough to include them in your blog as well :-D

iheartcooking - Since I used an acrylic gloss medium, it's kind of rubbery in it's consistency, so it only cracked a little, but there has been no flaking off at all.  You can hardly see the cracks, but there are where the toes bend on the shoe, as would be expected and is probably unavoidable all together.
