I see so many people using a single word or two instead of a huge URL in their threads and signature lines. Would someone PLEASE give me the formula? Huh
Thanks!  Cheesy

When you do your link, and add the URL code, do a little manual editting.

so instead of (minus the extra spaces, just want you to see the code)

[ url ]whole link address[ /url ]
make it read

[ url=whole link address ]what you want it to say in your post[ /url ]

So for example, the link to my blog if you link the whole address is:

[ url ]http://onyxnox.blogspot.com/[ /url ]

But if I wanted it to read "~my blog~" it would be

[ url=http://www.onyxnox.blogspot.com ]~my blog~[ /url ]

Again, minus the extra spaces after and before the square bracket.

Thanks! Question... Are you typing the entire thing twice? Or is the second part just the letters[/url] ? I promise to try it after dinner!

Usually what I do is copy and paste the link, highlight it, hit the code button for Craftster to make the link from the menu of choices, then go in and manually make the adjustments for it - the preview button is a happy thing so I can check to see if it worked properly or if I put in something wrong.

I Love this trick! The only thing to remember, that I discovered, is the Unseen Character Spaces are still counted.
